Dr. Katelynn Pierce grew up in Virginia on a small horse farm. She attended Virginia Tech, where she competed on the IHSA hunter equestrian team while earning a BA in economics and a BS in Animal and Poultry Sciences. She continued her stay in Blacksburg to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. She followed her husband's Marine Corps career to Japan where she worked as a civilian veterinarian for the US Army and as a FEI treating vet for international equestrian events. Her experience led her to be a veterinarian for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Dr. Pierce is a mother to her daughter, Sophie, and two yellow dogs, Theodore and Cooper. In her off time she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, traveling, and competing in show-jumping. She and her husband are excited to plant some roots here in the Lowcountry.
